Worst Wrestling Matches Ever, Part 3

Here is a recent epic failure of a wrestling match, with music as almost unbearable as what takes place in the ring. Enjoy... as best you can.

More PPV Name Change Goodness!

- WWE has sent out another survey to fans, asking their opinion on name for an upcoming PPV where the main events are all Elimination Chamber matches. The choices are:

* Elimination Chamber
* No Way Out
* Battle Chamber
* Heavy Metal
* Chamber of Conflict

- It would appear that the February PPV, traditionally the No Way Out PPV, which has been hosting the Elimination Chamber, is the PPV they are considering the change for.

Angelina Love Update

A note from Angelina's representative:

To the Pro Wrestling
Media Elite:

My name is Michael Klyzub of MJM Entertainment, the representative of Angel Williams. Both myself and my client have been bombarded with "News" stories and rumors concerning her situation from friends and fans alike, all or partially linked to your content. With respect to that I would like to take this time to clarify our present situation and I trust you will send this message along to your subscribers/readers.

As per usual, stories found on the internet have been grossly over stated and misinformed. Effective Thursday September 3, Angel Williams performing as Angelina Love in TNA had parted ways with the company. This separation was based purely on a miscommunication of Angel Williams' present Visa Status. This in no way has anything to do with Contract Disputes or trouble with the office as has been reported. I want to stress the fact that once this Visa issue is cleaned up Angel is welcomed back to TNA Wrestling with open arms.

At this time I cannot and will not address any of the other rumors that are circulating with regards to the type of Visa issues, concerns of gaining employment with the competition nor will I address any other rumors. I will say that most of what is on the internet is inaccurate and that the fans should rest assured that Angel Williams the performer will be returning to the ring in no time at all.

We greatly appreciate all the fan support and look forward to having this issue resolved shortly.

Thank you one and all.

~Michael Klyzub

Update on Angelina Love Firing

- TNA has removed Angelina Love from their roster page.

- For those wondering, when it comes to the work visa, the person applying has to make sure the basic work is done, which includes making sure you have enough money to support yourself, having a US sponsor and having a company that will employ you legally in the US. Sources say that TNA has been waiting for Love to get her issues resolved, but when push came to shove, their hands were tied.

- Also, in a correction from yesterday, Love is not working under her visa that was granted when she got her WWE Developmental deal. That Visa would have been canceled when her contract with WWE was terminated.

Bryan Danielson Wins PWG Title In Last PWG Appearance

Bryan Danielson, in his last match for California's Pro Wrestling Guerrilla promotion, defeated Chris Hero to become the fourteenth PWG World Champion. The match, Hero's 11th title defense, was said to be long and excellent with plenty of near falls and Danielson bleeding. After winning the belt, former Hybrid Dolphin tag team partner Paul London came out with a inflatable dolphin for the American Dolphin, Danielson gave a farewell speech and handed the belt back to PWG Lead Commentator Excalibur. Chris Hero then took the belt from Excalibur and put it around Danielson's waist saying he should at least wear the title belt once. The locker room came out to celebrate Danielson. The PWG world championship title is now vacant and will be given to the winner of the upcoming Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) tournament on Friday November 20 and 21.

Rise and Fall of WCW DVD Review

The Rise and Fall of WCW is covered neatly here in about 1 hr and 45 minutes. Consider that the Rise and Fall of ECW covered a shorter time period and was about 3 hours and you'll soon find what the biggest gripe the internet wrestling community has had with this DVD set.

It's just too brief. That's not to say it's not well produced (as nearly all WWE DVDs are). It most certainly is. The problem I've had with this DVD is that it simply glosses over much of the bigger moments of WCW. The Sting/Hogan match and it's epic botches from Starrcade '97, a huge turning point for the company serves as the prime example of some of the glaring omissions on this DVD. Unlike the ECW DVD, WWE's revisionist history carelessly meanders overs plenty of hot spots the changed the tide of WCW's fate, both positive and negative.

With all that being said, the matches are absolutely tremendous and remind me why and how WCW was so hot for so long. A number of some of my all time favorite matches grace this DVD Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat in Chicago, Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Dean Malenko, Syxx vs. Eddie Guerrero, Guerrero vs. Malenko, Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera, Steiners vs. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, Goldberg vs. DDP. That's not to mention some of the more classic matches I wasn't as familiar with before this DVD like Rock & Roll Express vs. Midnight Express, Steiners vs. Sting & Lex Luger, and Rick Rude vs. Sting.

If you're looking for some great wrestling this DVD has you covered. If you know nothing of the juggernaught that WCW became, this DVD is an excellent introduction. If you're a WCW expert, there's a chance you may not see anything here you didn't already know.

Nigel McGuiness signs with WWE

ROH has announced today that Nigel McGuinness will be leaving the promotion for World Wrestling Entertainment.

McGuinness, like Bryan Danielson, has agreed to finish up his scheduled bookings and will be on all the major shows this month, finishing up on 9/26 in New York.

McGuinness (real name Steve Haworth, 33) has not signed a WWE deal, but the sides are in strong negotiations and the deal is said to be close to being finalized. McGuinness was ROH champion from October 6, 2007 through April 3, 2009.

He looks to be following Bryan Danielson, who was considered ROH's top wrestler, who also recently signed with WWE. The moves were precipitated when HDNet moved the ROH television show from a Saturday night time slot to a Monday night slot.

Angelina Love Fired?

As of Sept 3rd, Lauren Williams, 26, known as Angelina Love of The Beautiful People, was released after an apparent issue with her working visa not being renewed given she was a Canadian citizen.

The current setting up of a Knockouts tag team tournament, which was to be decided on the No Surrender PPV, was to be a vehicle for Love & Velvet Sky to be the focal point of the championship. The match to decide the championship was origingally scheduled as Love & Sky vs. Sarita & Taylor Wilde, with Love & Sky as the probable winners.
